Micarta Phenolic Machining & Laminates
Close Tolerance Micarta Machining
Micarta® plastics, also known as Phenolic laminates, are an industrial laminated plastic created with resin-based thermoset materials reinforced with fiberglass, cotton cloth, paper, carbon fiber or other substrates by applying heat and pressure to these layers. There are several resins for Micarta laminates, which include Phenolic, epoxy, silicone, and melamine. The Micarta laminates have an excellent strength, and a strong resistance to heat, stress, and corrosive chemicals. Phenolic laminates are commonly used in electrical insulation, aerospace, automotive, and several other applications. Vanderveer Industrial Plastics have these laminates in raw material form and specialize in close tolerance Micarta machining.
IL Norplex manufactures the Micarta® brand. As such, Vanderveer Industrial Plastics utilizes IL Norplex materials for Micarta machining and close tolerance Micarta machining. Vanderveer offers several grades of Micarta laminates, including G10, G11, FR4, FR5, and much more. Since Vanderveer Industrial Plastics is AS 9100D certified, all grades of Micarta plastics meet several MIL-I standards. Vanderveer Industrial Plastics have been G10 & FR4 CNC Machining specialists since 1951.
Also, Vanderveer Industrial Plastics offers Micarta/Phenolic materials in sheet, rod, and tube that adhere to NEMA standards.
There are many NEMA Thickness Tolerances offered by Vanderveer Industrial Plastics.
