Micarta FR4 Machining Parts

Grade FR4 Glass Cloth Epoxy

Meets MIL-I-24768/27 Type GEE-F & ASTM D 709 01 TY IV Grade FR4

FR4 is a flame retardant grade designation assigned to glass-reinforced epoxy laminate sheets, tubes, and rods. Being a composite material composed of woven fiberglass cloth, and an epoxy resin binder, is what makes it self-extinguishing.

NEMA grade FR4 glass epoxy is a popular and versatile high-pressure thermoset plastic laminate grade with good strength to weight ratios. With low moisture absorption, FR4 is most commonly used as an electrical insulator as it possesses considerable mechanical strength. The material is known to retain its high mechanical values and electrical insulating qualities in both dry and humid conditions.

Micarta® G10/FR4 machining is in area in which Vanderveer Industrial Plastics excels.
